Dry warm beds await you at The Broadway Guest House, and Lehigh River is a good whitewater spot nearby. A wonderful spot to camp here at Mauch Chunk Lake is Bake Oven Campground; if you like skiing, you're in luck; Blue Mountain is rather near. Yeah, come here to Mauch Chunk Lake for a good time. The summit of Indian Mountain can be made out from Mauch Chunk Lake; you can run the rapids of Nesquehoning Creek. Mauch       Chunk Lake sees pretty high levels of rainfall; August is the month that gets the most rain, and the driest of the months is February. Split Rock is a nice local ski area, and if you want a little side visit, try Bloomingdale Valley. There are wonderful places to discover along the Appalachian National Scenic Trail, and if you need a place to stay Inn at Jim Thorpe is a great choice. Very magnificent water scenery is available at Mauch Chunk Dam in close proximity                  to Mauch Chunk Lake. Throughout the summertime here at Mauch Chunk Lake, high temperatures frequently reach the 70's; through summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. All through the winter highs are in the 20's, and night lows at Mauch Chunk Lake during the winter commonly drop into the 10's. This lake is so wonderful. Don't leave Mauch Chunk Lake without first going for a hike along the Boulder Field Trail, and camping at Whitewater Raft Campground is always a fine experience. This lake is so wonderful.
