Beautiful Maple Lake has much to offer visitors. After a long day outdoors Comfort Inn Towanda is a perfect place to spend a night or two, and whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then, we recommend Elk Creek. This lake is so wonderful. If you need a place to stay Best Western Grand Victorian Inn is a great choice, and Maple Lake Dam is stunning. | | June; the driest month of the year is January. Go for a hike on the Scar Run Trail. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Maple Lake has to offer, you can camp at Pioneer Campground. This lake is so wonderful. There's whitewater on Loyalsock Creek for all you adrenaline rush seekers, and going for a hike on the High Rock Spur is always a perfect adventure. You'll wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the entertaining things at Maple Lake. | |

Williams Lake is a splendid lake close to Maple Lake, and you can stay the night at Buttermilk Falls Campground. Summertime at Maple Lake arrives with high temperatures in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures dip down into
the 60's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 30's, and night lows through the winter for Maple Lake tend to be in the 10's. Lakes? Sure, Burgess Pond is nearby; Maple Lake is a location with many visitors from Sayre. It's
a nice idea to visit Blackwater Run, it's near Maple Lake, and nearby you find the World End Trail which is a splendid hiking trail.

Hunters Lake
 | We hiked around Hunters Lake in November. It was a rainy weekend and some of the trail was very wet but it was a flat, easy hike and the soggy ground was not hazardous. Parking is on the opposite side of Brunnerdale from the lake. Follow the gold blazes to hike around the lake. They begin on your left after crossing the dam. The last mile of the hike is actually on Brunnerdale Road. Not sure why the trail doesn't continue lakeside. Good family outing.... |
