After a long day outdoors Comfort Inn Clarks Summit is a tremendous site to spend a night or two, and Lord Pond is brilliant enough       to spend more than a day at, Shore Forest Campground is a brilliant local campground. Lord Pond is a good place of typical rain; of all the months in a year June is the one with the most rain; the driest month is January. This lake is so wonderful. There's whitewater on Bowman Creek for all you adrenaline people; the vista of beautiful Strickland Hill is nice. You feel that's enough? Just getting warmed up. On a pleasant day you can have a look at Kinney                  Swamp, a swamp in close proximity to Lord Pond; Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites GIBSON is a tremendous place to get some rest. Elk Mountain has magnificent slopes and a friendly staff, and if you want to play some golf, you're in luck because MTN Maples Public Golf Course is close at hand. Throughout the warm months here at Lord Pond, high temperatures usually get into the 70's; through summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. Highs during the winter are frequently in the 20's; night lows at Lord Pond all through the winter typically fall into the 10's.
