What a nice lake Lopez Pond is. High temperatures at Lopez Pond all through the warmest time of the year are in the 80's, and throughout summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. All through the wintertime this place gets highs in the 30's, and night lows at Lopez Pond through the winter mostly sink into the 10's. This lake is so wonderful. Get your heart beating on the brilliant whitewater of Loyalsock Creek, and if you need a site to stay Budget Host Patriot

| | Inn is a good choice. Lopez Pond gets a normal amount of rainfall; most of the rain falls all through June while January is the month with the least amount of precipitation.
The Irish Settlement Trail offers hiking at its best; let's not forget Lopez Pond Branch which is a stream that you may encounter while here. You'll discover a stunning lake called Glass Creek Pond near Lopez Pond, and you'll meet a lot of people from Bloomsburg-Berwick here.

camp nearby. A good nearby hotel is Comfort Inn Towanda; do take a hike on the Old Bulldozer Road Trail. A pleasant place to take a look at close to Lopez Pond is Dry Hollow. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Lopez
Pond has to offer, you can camp at Acorn Acres.

We hiked around Hunters Lake in November. It was a rainy weekend and some of the trail was very wet but it was a flat, easy hike and the soggy ground was not hazardous. Parking is on the opposite side of Brunnerdale from the lake. Follow the gold blazes to hike around the lake. They begin on your left after crossing the dam. The last mile of the hike is actually on Brunnerdale Road. Not sure why the trail doesn't continue lakeside. Good family outing.... |
