There's so much to do here at Long Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Lampe Marina Campground is a great place for that; at Harbor Turning Basin close to Long Pond there are some out of the ordinary things to see. You should without doubt explore Big Bend while you're here at Long Pond, and not far from Long Pond you'll come across Cranberry Pond which is a striking lake.       For the duration of the summer months highs here at Long Pond get into the 70's. Summer overnight lows fall down to the 60's. Through the winter this place gets highs in the 30's while Long Pond nighttime low temperatures all through the wintertime are in the 10's. This lake is so wonderful. Why not visit Crystal Point also since you're here, and a splendid nearby hotel is Knights Inn Erie Downtown. Get dripping wet paddling on Elk Creek, and while you're                  here you will meet lots of folks from close by Erie. This place is so good, just check out all the exciting stuff to do close to Long Pond. You'll need more than a day to discover everything Long Pond has to offer, you can camp at Sara's Beachcomber Campground, and in the neighborhood of Long Pond you come across a golf course called Joseph Martin Golf Club. From a rainfall point of view Long Pond is a reasonably typical spot; of all the months in a year September is the one with the most rain while January is ordinarily the driest month. This lake is so wonderful. Avalon Hotel is a fine site to get some rest, and of course West Branch Cascade Creek is a charming stream that is worth stopping at.
