Its 150 acres can be circumnavigated in about an hour and a half, without straining. The boat launch area has parking for about 20 cars. Birch Run is one of the streams nearby that might be worth taking a look at, and for you golfers we recommend close by Caledonia       Golf Club. You'll never forgive yourself if you don’t go skiing at Ski Liberty while you're here, and the South Mountain towers over Long Pine Run Reservoir. This lake is so wonderful. Be careful coming to Long Pine Run Reservoir, you might not ever want to return back home again. You're possibly keen on lakes, Caledonia Lake is one of those close by, and after a long day outdoors Scottish Inns & Suites Fayetteville is a delightful site to spend a night or                  two. Dry warm beds await you at Rodeway Inn Shippensburg, and you can go for a hike on the Green Ridge Trail. Throughout the summertime months highs here at Long Pine Run Reservoir get into the 80's with overnight lows in the 60's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 30's, and during the dark hours in the winter at Long Pine Run Reservoir temperatures drop to the 20's. If you want a wonderful time in the great outdoors, just come on down to Long Pine Run Reservoir. All our national parks are great spots to take a look at, and Catoctin Mountain Park is no exception; at Long Pine Run Reservoir you can spot Graefenburg Hill. Long Pine Run Reservoir is a splendid location to visit for more than one day, Conewago Campground is a splendid location to camp nearby; drift down the rapids of Conewago Creek - West in a kayak. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Antietam Creek - East Branch, and Colonels Crk Campground is a good campground nearby. Going for a hike on the Wildcat Trail is always a glorious adventure, and there is a fine hiking trail nearby called the Lippencot Trail. This lake is so wonderful.
