Its 150 acres can be circumnavigated in about an hour and a half, without straining. The boat launch area has parking for about 20 cars. The day we were there, only about three or four boats shared the water, making it almost like having your own private lake. The South Mountain here at Long Pine Run Reservoir makes the scenery here splendid, and don't leave Long Pine Run Reservoir without first going for a hike along the Green Ridge Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Antietam Creek - East Branch is a great whitewater spot in close proximity to Long Pine Run Reservoir, and Conewago Campground is a wonderful campground nearby. This       lake is so wonderful. Now, you may think that's lots but there's even more entertaining stuff to do here at Long Pine Run Reservoir. There's always Long Pine Run Dam to have a look at near Long Pine Run Reservoir, and getting to Birch Run from Long Pine Run Reservoir is uncomplicated. Dry warm beds await you at Rodeway Inn Shippensburg; there are nice spots to explore along the Wildcat Trail. From a rainfall point of view Long Pine Run Reservoir is a quite                  normal place; the month with most of the rain is June; January meanwhile is the driest month. Here at Long Pine Run Reservoir you can make out Graefenburg Hill, and not far from Long Pine Run Reservoir you'll stumble on Carbaugh Reservoir which is a charming lake. Ski Liberty is a fine local ski area, and Colonels Crk Campground is a delightful local campground. This lake is so wonderful. Looking for a tremendous visit? Catoctin Mountain Park is relatively in the neighborhood of Long Pine Run Reservoir, and if you're visiting from Gettysburg, you won't be the only one. For the duration of the warm days of summer at Long Pine Run Reservoir temperatures are usually in the 80's. During the dark hours of summer temperatures dip down into the 60's. During the winter the highs are mostly in the 30's with temperatures at Long Pine Run Reservoir dipping down into the 20's throughout winter nights.
