Little Mud Pond Dam is not far at all from Little Mud Pond; Soaring Eagle Campground is a nice local campground. This lake is so wonderful. There are some perfect whitewater spots on Callicoon Creek - East Branch, and if you need a place to stay The Settlers Inn is a glorious choice. At Little Mud Pond during the days of summer highs are in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures descend down into the       50's. All through the wintertime the highs are mostly in the 30's, and all through the dark hours in the winter at Little Mud Pond temperatures plunge to the 10's. There's whitewater on Callicoon Creek - North Branch for all you adrenaline rush seekers, and if you came for an overnight stay Camp Indian Head is a perfect spot to camp. Dry warm beds await you at Villa Roma Resort Lodges, and Mount Tone is a very popular ski area in the neighborhood. Little                  Mud Pond sees pretty high levels of precipitation; August is when you get the most rain here, and the driest month is February.
