The annual rain here at Lake Lard is about average; through June this area sees the most rain, and January on the other hand is the driest. Get soaked paddling on Stony Fork Creek, and hey, Asaph Run is a glorious local stream. A lake close by is Browns Lake; Ski Sawmill has pleasant slopes and a friendly staff. This lake is so wonderful. There is a perfect hiking trail in the neighborhood of Lake Lard called the Scotch       Pine Hollow Trail, and dry warm beds await you at Comfort Inn Mansfield. Lake Lard in fact is in the middle of a charming outdoors paradise. If the weather is pleasant here at Lake Lard, you can go for a hike along the Darling Road Trail, and Lake Lard is a fine site to visit for more than one day, Hills Creek State Park is a fine site to camp nearby. Lake Lard is not the only spot close by, Beechwood Lake is a close by lake, and on a pleasant day you can take                  a hike along the Left Strait Run Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Whitewater paddling is great on Pine Creek, and Mount Nesmuk is clearly visible from Lake Lard. At Lake Lard during the summertime highs are in the 70's; throughout summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 30's while the cold winter nights at Lake Lard are in the 10's.
