Camping at Blue Knob State Park is always a good experience, and pleasant water scenery is available at Ebensburg Storage Dam near Lakemont Reservoir. For the duration of the days of summer here at Lakemont Reservoir,       high temperatures generally get into the 80's. For the period of the dark hours of summer temperatures fall down into the 50's. Through the winter highs are in the 30's, and all through the dark hours in the wintertime at Lakemont Reservoir temperatures sink to the 10's. Lakemont Reservoir is splendid enough to spend more than a day at, Wright's Orchard Station Campground is a splendid local campground, and a tremendous place for whitewater paddling is                  Little Conemaugh River. Head up to Blue Knob and strap some skis to your feet, and you can run the rapids of Yellow Creek. Burgoon Run flows through this neighborhood, and after a long day outdoors Courtyard By Marriott Altoona is a splendid location to spend a night or two. This lake is so wonderful. If you're a golfer then a delightful nearby course is Scotch Valley Country Club. And if that's not enough, there's lots more to do in close proximity to Lakemont Reservoir. Lakemont Reservoir is not the only spot close by, Oakton Reservoir is a close by lake, and if you need a place to stay Altoona Super 8 Motel is a glorious choice.
