A magnificent close by hotel is Scranton/Wilkes-Barre/Pittston Knights Inn; Lake Winola is nice enough to spend more than a day at, Highland Camp Ground is a nice local campground. For the duration of the warm days of summer highs here at Lake Winola reach the 70's, and through the night it cools down to the 50's. Throughout the winter this place gets highs in the 20's,       and night lows at Lake Winola during the winter mostly fall into the 10's. This lake is so wonderful. Comfort Inn Clarks Summit is a great place to get some rest, and there are other sites here than Lake Winola, for example Mack Lake. Don't leave Lake Winola without first going for a hike along the Pinnacle Trail, and you can never get enough of the great skiing at Montage Mountain. You'll wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the fun things at Lake Winola.                  A delightful view of beautiful East Mountain is available from Lake Winola, and Emanon Country Club is a fine golf course nearby. Don't forget to take a great little visit to Beaver Creek, and a great location to camp here at Lake Winola is Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park Tunkhannock. If you're dropping by Lake Winola from Scranton—Wilkes-Barre, you won't be the only one, and not far from Lake Winola you'll find Flow Pond which is a gorgeous lake. The amount of rainfall that falls at Lake Winola is close to the national average; most of the rain falls throughout June, and the driest of the months is January. Soar down the rapids of Bowman Creek in a kayak.
