Not far from Lake Scranton, you'll stumble on Mountain Lake which is a charming lake, and whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then,       we recommend Lackawanna River. This lake is so wonderful. Lake Scranton is great enough to spend more than a day at, How Kola Camp is a great local campground, and Coon Hill is clearly visible from Lake Scranton. If you come at the right time of year, Spring Brook offers some glorious whitewater; if the weather is perfect, you can go for a hike along the Choke Creek Trail. Lake Scranton is a wet location that gets a lot of precipitation; the month with most                  of the rain is June, and February is when it's the driest. Man, is there a load of fun stuff to do close to Lake Scranton. Clarion Hotel Scranton is a perfect location to get some rest, and Nay Aug Falls is an inspiring site to explore while here. Hit the slopes at Montage Mountain in close proximity, and you can have a nice hiking adventure along the Refuge Trail. This lake is so wonderful. An afternoon playing golf at Wemberly Hills Golf Course is always a diversion, and while you're here you can take a hike along the Pinnacle Trail. Nay Aug Park Gorge is a perfect place to spend some time at, and if you came to camp Lake Greeley Camp is a great place to do that. Here at Lake Scranton there are plenty of folks from Scranton—Wilkes-Barre. If only every place had this much outdoors cool things, what a great planet it would be. You can take a little visit to Lake Scranton Dam if you're here at Lake Scranton, and Jack Frost is a very popular ski area in the neighborhood. During the long summer days at Lake Scranton highs are typically in the 70's. Once the sun is down it dips down to the 50's.
