This lake is so wonderful. Caesars Pocono Palace is a great spot to get some rest, and swamps can be such exciting       places, explore Long Swamp while you're here at Lake Monroe. This lake is so wonderful. Very glorious water scenery is available at Monroe Lake Dam in the neighborhood of Lake Monroe, and Country Club of the Poconos at Big Ridge is a great golf course close by. Lake Monroe commonly gets much precipitation; most of the rain falls throughout May, and February on the other hand is the driest. Whohoo, so much enjoyable stuff in one place! Lake Monroe is unbeatable!                  Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always stop at close by Otter Lake, and the Smith Trail offers hiking at its best. Camping at Mountain Vista Campground is always a great experience, and the slopes of Alpine Mountain are so inviting noone can resist. Bear Swamp Run is a striking stream that is worth visiting. Lake Monroe is splendid enough to spend more than a day at, Timothy Lake Resort is a splendid local campground, and there are some splendid whitewater spots on Brodhead Creek. Shawnee Mountain is a brilliant local ski area; Lake Monroe is right by the Kinney Trail. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 80's to Lake Monroe. When the night sets in temperatures plunge down into the 50's. Highs through the winter are frequently in the 30's while Lake Monroe overnight low temperatures during the wintertime are in the 10's.
