    Do stop by Lake Laura while you're in this part of Pennsylvania. You'll need more than a day to discover everything Lake Laura has to offer, you can camp at Camp Watonka, and you'll never forgive yourself if you don’t go skiing at Ski Big Bear while you're here. This is a popular place for folks from East Stroudsburg, and a trip to nearby Pickerel Point is very relaxing. Very magnificent water scenery is available at Lake Laura Dam next to Lake Laura, and after  
   a long day outdoors Shadowbrook Resort is a great spot to spend a night or two.
A pleasant close by hotel is Skytop Lodge; hiking is a popular thing to do around Lake Laura; Whittaker Trail is a delightful local trail. And if that's not enough, there's a load more to do in close proximity to Lake Laura. Don't leave Lake Laura without first going for a hike along the Lake Laura Trail; what would winter be without some skiing at Tanglwood. And if you're
 
               still looking for more outdoors amusing stuff just keep reading. There's some flowing water close by, Big Inlet is a stream you can have a look at while here, and whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then, we recommend Wallenpaupack Creek - East Branch.
This lake is so wonderful. There's whitewater on Bush Kill Creek for all you thrill seekers, and Big Inlet Swamp is an interesting swamp right next door to Lake Laura. Through the days of summer here at Lake Laura, high temperatures typically reach the 70's. During the dark hours of summer temperatures plunge down into the 50's. Highs during the winter are regularly in the 30's while Lake Laura overnight low temperatures throughout the winter are in the 10's. There's so much to do here at Lake Laura that you need to camp here for a while, Ledgedale Recreation Area is a pleasant site for that, and Delaware National Scenic River is a very good spot to take a look at.
The annual rain here at Lake Laura is about average; of all the months in a year May is the one with the most rain; February is the month with the least moisture. This lake is so wonderful. There's glorious hiking along the Rock Oak Trail; here at Lake Laura you can observe Belle Mountain.
