Lake Laura Dam is not far at all from Lake Laura, and you are in close proximity to Pickerel Point if you're here. You'll need more than a day to discover everything Lake Laura has to offer, you can camp at Camp Watonka, and why not a little side tour to Big Inlet. This lake is so wonderful. Skiing at Tanglwood is one of those things you just have to do; Lake Laura is a place with many visitors from East Stroudsburg. Lake       Belle is a nearby lake that you could stop at; you can never get enough of the great skiing at Ski Big Bear. What a place this is for outdoors people. Belle Mountain is a peak you can observe from Lake Laura, and get your heart pumping on the good whitewater of Bush Kill Creek. This lake is so wonderful. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Wallenpaupack Creek - East Branch. There's so much to do here at Lake Laura that                  you need to camp here for a while, Ledgedale Recreation Area is a brilliant place for that. If you like swamps, you're in luck, Big Inlet Swamp is right close by, and you can have a great hiking adventure along the Lake Laura Trail. A trip to Delaware National Scenic River is worthwhile; since you're here you can take a hike along the Whittaker Trail. Lake Laura gets a common amount of precipitation; most of the rain falls through May, and February is when it's the driest. During the days of summer, highs typically are in the 70's at Lake Laura. Summer overnight lows fall down to the 50's. Highs during the wintertime are usually in the 30's, and nighttime lows through the wintertime for Lake Laura tend to be in the 10's. This lake is so wonderful. After a long day outdoors Shadowbrook Resort is a pleasant place to spend a night or two; going for a hike along the Rock Oak Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this area. Life's too short to enjoy all the entertaining stuff in the vicinity of Lake Laura.
