Hidden Springs Campground is a tremendous local campground, and if you're interested in hydro structures, you can pop by Thomas W Koon Dam. You'll wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the exciting stuff at Lake Koon. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Dickens Trail, and there's whitewater on Evitts Creek for all you adrenaline kick people. Dry warm beds await you at Holiday Inn       Cumberland-Downtown, Md, and it's a glorious idea to go to Growden Run. Summer brings highs in the 70's to Lake Koon with night lows in the 50's. Daytime highs during the winter are in the 30's, and night lows during the winter for Lake Koon tend to be in the 10's. This lake is so wonderful. The Wigfield Trail offers hiking at its best, and Lake Koon is a good site to visit for more than one day, Rocky Gap State Park is a good site to camp nearby. There's                  wonderful hiking along the Old Mail Trail, and if you need a place to stay Fairfield Inn & Suites Cumberland is a good choice. This lake is so wonderful. While you're here at Lake Koon you will meet lots of folks from close by Cumberland; you can run the rapids of Flintstone Creek.
