High temperatures at Lake Johnston through the warm days of summer are in the 80's with night lows in the 50's. Throughout the winter highs are in the 30's, and night lows during the wintertime for Lake Johnston tend to be in the 10's. If you come at the right time       of year, Bear Creek - Allegheny River Tributary offers some tremendous whitewater, and Lake Johnston is a location with many visitors from Oil City. Lake Johnston is a reasonably wet place mostly with a lot of rainfall; July is the month that gets the most rain while February is regularly the driest month. Camping at Lake Johnston is good fun, Marlowe's Scenic River Campground is a good local campground, and Carrs Run is in the vicinity of Lake Johnston                  and is always a delight to take a look at. After a long day outdoors Emlenton Motor Inn is a pleasant location to spend a night or two; why not camp at Gaslight Campgrounds while you're here at Lake Johnston. This lake is so wonderful. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Mill Creek - Allegheny R.
