This summer's frequent storms have muddied local feeder streams to the extent that they are almost unfishable. Lake Aldred is a favorite smallmouth and walleye fishery since my return to PA ten years ago. This summer has been a real bummer on the river. This is a magnificent vicinity for people who like lakes. Lake Clarke is a lake in the neighborhood, and in the event that you don’t have a problem getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Muddy Creek - Susquehanna Tributary. The amount of rain that falls at Lake Aldred is close to the national average; of all the months in a year       July is the one with the most rain; the driest of the months is February. This lake is so wonderful. That right there is a load already, but it continues; Lake Aldred has it all. Nearby lakes? Sure, Muddy Run Recreation Reservoir is near Lake Aldred, and a wonderful site for whitewater paddling is Susquehanna River. This lake is so wonderful. A splendid nearby hotel is Lancaster Amish Country Travelodge, and let's not forget Anderson Run which is a stream                  that you may stumble upon while here. Stay the night at Tucquan Park Family Campground, and there are plenty of people from Lancaster here at Lake Aldred. Summer at Lake Aldred comes with high temperatures in the 80's with night lows in the 60's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 30's, and nighttime lows at Lake Aldred all through the winter typically descend into the 10's.
