A short visit to VanDyke Spring is always worthwhile, and if you come at the right time of year, Laurel Hill Creek offers some magnificent whitewater. Kooser Lake generally gets a great deal of rain; all through the month of June you get the most rain around here; February meanwhile is the driest month. This lake is so wonderful. You're sure to run into some great folks from Somerset here, and going for a hike on the Wolf Rocks Trail is always a splendid adventure.

| | Why not camp at Pioneer Park Campground if you're here at Kooser Lake, and a good nearby hotel is Hampton Inn Somerset. Whohoo, so many fun things in one place! Kooser Lake is excellent! The snow is magnificent at The Springs at Laurel Mountain, and if you came for an overnight stay Hickory Hollow Camp Ground is a glorious spot to camp. All the outdoors fun stuff near Kooser Lake will keep you coming back many times. The best way to spend a winter day | |

is on the slopes of close by Hidden Valley. If you need a place to stay Ramada Historic Ligonier, PA is a tremendous choice, and you can go for a hike on the Darr Trail. Kooser Lake is not the only site close by, Laurel Hill Lake
is a close by lake, and there are perfect spots to look at along the Brant Trail. A lake nearby is Laurel Hill Creek Reservoir, and the scenery at Laurel Hill Creek Dam is striking. This lake is so wonderful. There are some great
whitewater spots on Casselman River, and obviously Crise Run is a beautiful stream that is worth visiting. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 80's to Kooser Lake, and through summer nights temperatures are in the
50's. For the period of the wintertime highs are mostly in the 30's with winter lows in the 10's overnight here at Kooser Lake.

Cranberry Glade Lake
 | 12 miles away We spent the whole day fishing CGL on 7/27/08, this was my first visit. The lake is only an average of 4 FEET DEEP! We did find an occasional 5 foot spot, but he weeds are right up to the surface making trolling very difficult. We fished the entire lake and used a fish finder thruout, we marked very little fish. We caught 2 largemouth, both around 9 inches. One on a white Houdini worm, one on a top water frog.... |

 | 15 miles away This is the best campground I've ever been to. The owner is great and everyone is very friendly. There are camper areas, a huge field for tents, and also wilderness tent areas that are nestled into the woods.
