This location is unbeatable, just explore all the entertaining things to do near Kaufman Reservoir. Good hiking is available along the Northkill Path. You'll need more than a day to discover everything Kaufman Reservoir has to offer, you can camp at Christmas Pines Camp Ground. This lake is so wonderful.
There's perfect hiking along the Sand Spring Trail, and if you've had enough of Kaufman Reservoir, Mud Run Reservoir is nearby. You'll meet a lot of people from Pottsville here, and a round of golf at nearby Mountain Valley Golf Course
is a great way to kill some time. Gotta ski! Blue Marsh is a fine spot to do that, and you can stay the night at Red Ridge Lake Campground.
You can run the rapids of Black Creek right next door to Kaufman Reservoir; almost certainly
you're looking for nearby lakes? Sure, Mountain Shadow Lake is just a very short distance away. A fine close by hotel is Rodeway Inn Frackville, and Nescopeck Creek is a magnificent whitewater spot close by.
