It's always fun to stop by Kaufman Reservoir. Don't leave Kaufman Reservoir without first going for a hike along the Yellick Path, and some of the water nearby flows, like Bolivar Run. At Kaufman Reservoir during the summer months highs are in the 80's with overnight lows in the 50's. This lake is so wonderful. Camping at Red Ridge Lake Campground is always a magnificent experience, and Kaufman Reservoir is not the only site nearby, Mud Run Reservoir is a nearby lake. Marsh. If you need a place to stay Rodeway Inn Frackville is a good choice, and enjoy a round of golf at Mountain Valley Golf Course.
Hiking is a popular thing to do around Kaufman Reservoir; Sand Spring Trail is a fine local
trail; dry warm beds await you at Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Frackville, Pa. People from Pottsville love to come to Kaufman Reservoir. A good location to camp here at Kaufman Reservoir is Christmas Pines Camp Ground, and whitewater
paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then, we recommend Black Creek.
Be careful coming to Kaufman Reservoir, you might not ever wanna go home again. Good hiking is available along the Northkill Path, and get your heart pumping on the great whitewater of Nescopeck Creek.
