Island Pond sees pretty high levels of rain; August is the month that gets the most rain; February meanwhile is the driest month. Tarbox Brook is a brilliant local stream; you don’t have to go far from Island Pond to make out the water at Shehawken Dam. Any time is a good time at Island Pond if you like the outdoors. If you came       to camp Twin Falls Campground is a good place to do that; after a long day outdoors Super 8 Motel - Sidney is a brilliant place to spend a night or two. For the duration of the long summer days, highs generally are in the 80's at Island Pond, and through the night it cools down to the 50's. Daytime highs through the winter are in the 30's, and overnight lows at Island Pond throughout the wintertime ordinarily sink into the 10's. This lake is so wonderful.                  Do explore Shehawken Lake in the neighborhood of Island Pond, it's a delightful lake. This lake is so wonderful. Skiing at Mount Tone is one of those things you just should do, and drift down the rapids of Lackawanna River in a kayak. There's so much to do here at Island Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Camp Weequahic is a great location for that, and from Island Pond you get a great vista of Shrawder Mountain.
