From a rain point of view Indian Lake is a quite normal spot; during the month of July you get the most rain around here, and February is the month with the least moisture. This lake is so wonderful. Boone Run is right next door to Indian Lake and is always a diversion to check out. Glide down the rapids of Dark Shade Creek in a kayak, and there are splendid sites to explore along the John P Saylor Trail. If       you're visiting Indian Lake from Somerset, you won't be the only one, and a glorious close by hotel is Holiday Inn Express Johnstown, Pa. What a site this is for outdoors people. Northwinds Golf Course at Indian Lake Resort is a golf course in the neighborhood of Indian Lake, and the scenery at Indian Lake Dam is beautiful. This lake is so wonderful. After a long day outdoors Comfort Inn & Suites is a wonderful spot to spend a night or two, and camping at Pine                  Oaks Camp Ground is always a pleasant experience. There is a magnificent hiking trail next to Indian Lake called the Old '56' Trail, and a good site to camp here at Indian Lake is Woodland Campsites. Going for a hike on the Wolf Rocks Trail is always a good adventure, and paddling on Stonycreek River is so much fun. Throughout the warm months highs here at Indian Lake get into the 70's, and through summer nights temperatures are in the 50's.
