Middle Creek - Lackawaxen Tributary is a splendid whitewater spot in the neighborhood of Independent Lake, and the scenery at Orson Pond Dam is pretty. Near Independent Lake you find a golf course called Memorial Links Golf Course; if you like skiing, you're in luck; Mount Tone is quite near. Dry warm beds await you at Holiday Inn Express Hotel       & Suites GIBSON. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Independent Lake has to offer, you can camp at Camp Tioga. High temperatures at Independent Lake during the warm days of summer are in the 80's. Summer night lows plunge down to the 50's.
