Lake Idlewild gets a lot of water; the month with most of the rain is June, and the driest month of the year is February. Montage Mountain is a nice local ski area. There's so much to do here at Lake Idlewild that you need to camp here for a while, Meadow View Family Campground is a wonderful location for that. For the duration of the warm days of summer, highs regularly are in the 70's at Lake Idlewild. Through the dark       hours of summer temperatures plunge down into the 50's. For the duration of the winter this place gets highs in the 20's while Lake Idlewild overnight low temperatures during the wintertime are in the 10's. A glorious place for whitewater paddling in the neighborhood of Lake Idlewild is Lackawanna River, and you'll discover a scenic lake called Mud Pond. If only every spot had this much outdoors entertaining stuff, what a great planet it would be. Here at                  Lake Idlewild you can spot Carey Hill, and if you like skiing, you're in luck; Elk Mountain is relatively near. After a long day outdoors Clifford Hotel & Restaurant is a delightful spot to spend a night or two, and dry warm beds await you at Inn at Lake Lowe. If you like swamps, you're in luck, Bear Swamp is right close by. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Lake Idlewild has to offer, you can camp at The Camp At East Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Spring Brook is a splendid whitewater spot near Lake Idlewild, and going for a hike on the Pinnacle Trail is always a splendid adventure.
