A visit to Ice Pond is always a good idea. Stay the night at Donne Lake Campground; there are good spots to explore along the Darr Trail. Go for a hike on the Brant Trail, and if you're looking for some flowing water? Try Coalpit Run. Ice Pond is a good spot of typical rainfall; July is the wettest month with most rain, and the driest of the months is February. Gotta ski! The Springs at Laurel Mountain is a fine site to do that, and if you're a golfer

| | then a perfect nearby course is Champion Lakes Golf Club. For the period of the warm months highs here at Ice Pond get into the 80's while night lows are regularly in the 50's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 30's, and overnight lows during the winter for Ice Pond tend to be in the 10's. You'll wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the fun stuff at Ice Pond. scenery at Ice Pond Dam is charming. This lake is so wonderful. Loyalhanna Creek is a wonderful whitewater spot in the neighborhood of Ice Pond, and Ice Pond is a perfect place to visit for more than one day, Forbes Trail Camp is
a perfect place to camp nearby. This lake is so wonderful. Dry warm beds await you at Ramada Inn At Historic Ligonier; pretty scenery and good skiing is what you obtain at Hidden Valley. If you want a glorious time in the great
outdoors, just come on down to Ice Pond. If you need a place to stay Hampton Inn & Suites Blairsville is a great choice, and Clark Hollow is another great place to stop by close by.

 | 19 miles away We spent the whole day fishing CGL on 7/27/08, this was my first visit. The lake is only an average of 4 FEET DEEP! We did find an occasional 5 foot spot, but he weeds are right up to the surface making trolling very difficult. We fished the entire lake and used a fish finder thruout, we marked very little fish. We caught 2 largemouth, both around 9 inches. One on a white Houdini worm, one on a top water frog.... |
