Hunters Lake, Sullivan County, Pennsylvania     Custom Search User input for Hunters Lake, Sullivan County, Pennsylvania: WLG: We hiked around Hunters Lake in November.  It was a rainy weekend and some of the trail was very wet but it was a flat, easy hike and the soggy ground was not hazardous.  Parking is on the opposite side of Brunnerdale from the lake.  Follow the gold blazes to hike around the lake.  They begin on your left after crossing the dam. The last mile of the hike is actually on Brunnerdale Road.  Not sure why the trail doesn't continue lakeside.  Good family outing. A normal amount of rainfall falls here at Hunters Lake; of all the months in a year June is the one with the most rain, and the driest of the months is January. You could also pop by Deer Lake if you're here at Hunters Lake; it's nearby, and the Laurel Ridge Trail is a great hiking trail nearby. There's whitewater on Loyalsock Creek for all you adrenaline junkies, and close by you come across the Loyalsock Trail which is a       splendid hiking trail. Dry warm beds await you at Danville-Days Inn Conference Center; why not camp at Pioneer Campground if you're here at Hunters Lake. This is no place for people who don’t like to have a good time. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Elk Creek, and on a pleasant day you can take a hike along the Walnut Trail. This lake is so wonderful. At Hunters Lake Dam in the neighborhood of Hunters Lake there are some attention-grabbing things to see, and a great place to camp here at Hunters Lake is Hemlock Valley Campground. At Hunters Lake through the warmest time of the year highs are in the 80's, and the night is a tad chillier of course, commonly in the 60's.
