Horse Shoe Swamp is an out of the ordinary swamp in close proximity to Humboldt Reservoir; why not take a little spree to Wolffs Run if you're here. Sand Springs Country Club is a golf course in close proximity to Humboldt Reservoir, and on a good day you can take a hike along the Pinnacle Trail. This lake is so wonderful. If you're visiting Humboldt Reservoir from Pottsville, you won't be       the only one, and the scenery at Humboldt Dam is picturesque. After a long day outdoors Candlewood Suites HAZLETON is a good site to spend a night or two, and there is a great hiking trail nearby called the Valley Rim Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Residence Inn Hazleton is a great location to get some rest; if you're here you can take a hike along the Appalachian National Scenic Trail. Camping is available at Council Cup Campground; Black Creek has                  a magnificent whitewater paddling spot nearby. High temperatures at Humboldt Reservoir through the days of summer are in the 80's, and the overnight is quite chillier of course, generally in the 50's. Daytime highs throughout the winter are in the 30's while the cold winter nights at Humboldt Reservoir are in the 10's. A great place to camp here at Humboldt Reservoir is Red Ridge Lake Campground; whitewater paddling is pleasant on Nescopeck Creek.
