Some close by water includes Butler Creek; lakes are such peaceful spots, why not stop by Acre Pond. Horton Lake is a relatively wet place mostly with much rainfall; most of the rain falls during June, and February meanwhile is the driest month. At Horton Lake during the warm days of summer highs are in the 70's, and all through summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. The winter brings highs down to the 20's; during the       dark hours in the wintertime at Horton Lake temperatures plunge to the 10's. Horton Lake is good enough to spend more than a day at, Sunrise Lake Family Campgrnds is a good local campground, and glide down the rapids of Lackawanna River in a kayak. All the outdoors amusing things right next door to Horton Lake will keep you coming back over and over. Camping at Shore Forest Campground is always a fine experience, also Horton Lake Dam is worth taking a look                  at while you're here. If you come at the right time of year, Meshoppen Creek offers some wonderful whitewater, and you can never get enough of the great skiing at Elk Mountain. This lake is so wonderful. Really great skiing awaits you at Montage Mountain, and after a long day outdoors Lift Inn is a brilliant place to spend a night or two. This lake is so wonderful.
