Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Meshoppen Creek, and you'll hit upon a stunning lake called Polk Pond. Lakes are such peaceful places, why not have a look at Acre Pond close to Horton Lake, and a great close by hotel is Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites GIBSON. Horton Lake is fine enough to spend more than a day at, Shore Forest Campground is a fine local       campground; Elk Mountain is a splendid local ski area. All the water falling down from the sky makes Horton Lake a wet spot; most of the rain falls all through June, and February meanwhile is the driest month. At Horton Lake all through the summertime highs are in the 70's with nighttime lows in the 50's. Daytime highs through the winter are in the 20's, and through the dark hours in the wintertime at Horton Lake temperatures dip to the 10's. This lake is                  so wonderful. Everybody nearby loves skiing at Montage Mountain. This lake is so wonderful. The scenery at Horton Lake Dam next to Horton Lake is scenic, and swing by Butler Creek it's a good place to take a look at.
