Throughout the summer here at Homer Gap Reservoir, high temperatures usually reach the 80's. Summer nighttime lows drop down to the 50's. All through the wintertime highs are mostly in the 30's, and night lows in the 10's for Homer Gap Reservoir. Wright's Orchard Station Campground is a tremendous local campground; after a long day outdoors Econo Lodge Altoona is a tremendous place to spend a night or two. This       lake is so wonderful. You'll find a delightful lake called Mill Run Reservoir near Homer Gap Reservoir, and why not head up to Blue Knob and strap some skis to your feet. There are some great whitewater spots on Clearfield Creek; Hampton Inn Altoona is a tremendous site to get some rest. You'll wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the entertaining stuff at Homer Gap Reservoir. Zimmie's Campground is a good campground nearby, and while you're here you                  will meet lots of folks from nearby Altoona. Not far from Homer Gap Reservoir you acquire some tremendous water scenery at Altoona Lower Number Two Dam, and there's whitewater on Little Conemaugh River for all you thrill seekers. This lake is so wonderful. Lakes are such calm locations, why not visit Oakton Reservoir in the vicinity of Homer Gap Reservoir, and enjoy a round of golf at Park Hills Country Club.
