Go for a hike on the Wolf Rocks Trail; High Point Lake Dam is an interesting thing to check out. Don't leave High Point Lake without first going for a hike along the Great Gorge Trail, and the snow is delightful at Hidden Valley. That right there is lots already, but it keeps on going; High Point Lake has it all. A short trip to Big Spring is always worthwhile. There's so       much to do here at High Point Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Lost Mountain Campground is a tremendous site for that. This lake is so wonderful. Cove Run flows through this vicinity, and after a long day outdoors Comfort Inn Grantsville is a good place to spend a night or two. High Point Lake frequently gets much rain; all through the month of July you get the most rain around here; the driest of the months is February. Dry warm beds await you                  at Wisp Resort; if you don't mind getting drenched, you can always go whitewater paddling on Casselman River. This lake is so wonderful. High Point Lake is good enough to spend more than a day at, Scottyland Camping Resort and RV is a good local campground, and why not head up to Wisp and strap some skis to your feet. Through the warm months highs here at High Point Lake get into the 80's. All through the moonlight hours it's mostly in the 50's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 30's; overnight lows in the 10's for High Point Lake.
