It's always fun to stop by Hickory Run Lake. The summit of Pine Hill can be distinguished from Hickory Run Lake; what would winter be without some skiing at Split Rock. Have a pleasant hiking adventure along the Refuge Trail; Hickory Run Lake is right by the Boulder Field Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Gotta ski! Hickory Run Lake is a pretty wet place usually with lots of rainfall; throughout August this area sees the most rain; the driest of the months is February. For the duration of the long summer days, highs frequently are in the 70's at Hickory Run Lake with night lows in the 50's.
