Nearby Pleasant Valley is a great place to go if you're at Hiawatha Lake, and the panorama of striking Shrawder Mountain is nice. This lake is so wonderful. Lackawanna River has a glorious whitewater paddling spot nearby, and Elk Mountain is a very popular ski area close by. Mount Tone has wonderful slopes and a friendly staff, and while you're here,       you could also stop at scenic Pine Swamp Pond. Be careful coming to Hiawatha Lake, you might not ever wanna return home again. Don't miss out on a good swamp; Pine Swamp is right here at Hiawatha Lake; Preston Park Pond Dam is not far at all from Hiawatha Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Hiawatha Creek flows through this neighborhood, and dry warm beds await you at Super 8 Motel - Sidney. If you want to play some golf, you're in luck because Hancock Golf                  Course is in the neighborhood. If you need a place to stay Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites GIBSON is a magnificent choice, and Hiawatha Lake is a good place to visit for more than one day, Camp Weequahic is a good place to camp nearby. All through the long summer days, highs frequently are in the 80's at Hiawatha Lake. When the night sets in temperatures sink down into the 50's. Daytime highs all through the winter are in the 30's, and overnight lows at Hiawatha Lake through the wintertime typically fall into the 10's.
