Whitewater paddling is splendid on Pocono Creek, and if you're stopping by from East Stroudsburg, you won't be the only one. Lehigh River has a great whitewater paddling spot nearby. This lake is so wonderful. Going for a hike on the Camelback Trail is always a fine adventure, and hey, Gotta ski right? Camelback is a fine place to do that. A lake close by is Lake Mineola; Hiawatha Lake is good enough to spend       more than a day at, Silver Valley Campsites is a good local campground. For the duration of the days of summer at Hiawatha Lake highs are frequently in the 70's. During the dark hours of summer temperatures plunge down into the 50's. Throughout the wintertime this place gets highs in the 30's while the cold winter nights at Hiawatha Lake are in the 10's. Hiawatha Lake is a wet spot that gets much precipitation; May is the wettest month with most rain, and February                  meanwhile is the driest month. This lake is so wonderful. Hiawatha Lake is not the only spot nearby, Lake Akiba is a nearby lake, and a brilliant spot to camp here at Hiawatha Lake is Chestnut Lake Campground. Don't leave Hiawatha Lake without first going for a hike along the Lakeside Trail, and if you haven’t been to Delaware & Lehigh National Heritage Corridor, you must schedule some time for it while you're here. But wait, there's more to do in close proximity to Hiawatha Lake. Very picturesque scenery and glorious skiing is what you get at Mount Airy Lodge, and a tremendous nearby hotel is Chateau Resort at Camelback.
