That right there is loads already, but it continues; Hempstead Lake has it all. Pleasant Valley is close to Hempstead Lake and is a fine site; after a long day outdoors Super 8 Motel - Sidney is a glorious site to spend a night or two. This lake is so wonderful. Head up to Elk Mountain and strap some skis to your feet. High       temperatures at Hempstead Lake during the warmest time of the year are in the 80's. Summer nighttime lows sink down to the 50's. During the winter the highs are typically in the 30's while Hempstead Lake night low temperatures during the winter are in the 10's. Hempstead Lake gets lots of water; the month with most of the rain is August while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation. This lake is so wonderful. There are other spots here                  than Hempstead Lake, for example Perch Pond, and at Starlight Lake Dam near Hempstead Lake there are some out of the ordinary things to see. Falls Creek is a nice local stream; West Branch Angler and Sportman is a tremendous campground nearby. Lakes? Sure, Starlight Lake is in the vicinity; next to Hempstead Lake you locate a golf course called Hancock Golf Course.
