Nesquehoning Mountain is uncomplicated to spot from Hauto Dam. There's so much to do here at Hauto Dam that you need to camp here for a while, Rosemount Camping Resort is a pleasant place for that. If you came to camp Whitewater Raft Campground is a fine location to do that. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this spot. On a fine day at Hauto Dam you can take a hike along the Pinnacle Trail, and if you're here, you could also pop by delightful Broad Run Reservoir.

If you need a place to stay Candlewood Suites HAZLETON is a perfect choice, and there's some flowing water close by, Bear Creek is a stream you can explore while here. Scenic Trail. Hauto Dam ordinarily gets a good deal of precipitation; the month of August is the wettest with most of the rain, and February meanwhile is the driest month. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for
you then we recommend Nesquehoning Creek, and you'll discover a beautiful lake called Bear Creek Reservoir. Summer brings highs in the 70's to Hauto Dam with nighttime lows in the 50's. High temperatures through the winter are normally
in the 20's, and winter nights come with lows in the 10's to Hauto Dam. This lake is so wonderful. Dry warm beds await you at HAZLETON MOTOR INN, and the Valley Rim Trail is a good hiking trail close by.

 | 18 miles away Not to differ from the obscure description given on the site, but Stairway Lake, or the Landingville Dam isn't quite the picture painted by that description. Well...Blue Marsh Ski is a cool half-hour away, you can about jump across Mahannon Creek, Mountain Springs is on the other side of the...mountain. But for real, the Landingville Dam is a decent place for water skiing and bass fishing. It is a superb location for crappie fishing and bird watching. The spillway is a great place for pickerel fishing and the emptying Schuylkill River is a wonderful run on a kayak or canoe. Take 'natural area' and 'desilting basin' with a grain of salt, as this dam is both. Natural enough to see a bald eagle, yet enough of a basin to see hundreds of plastic bottles strewn on the shores. Reasons to come to Landingille: carp, jet skis, foilage, isolation. Reasons not to: total lack of civilization, middle of nowhere, water pollution, isolation.... |
