If you come at the right time of year, Lackawanna River offers some glorious whitewater, and a brilliant close by hotel is Comfort Inn Clarks Summit. Yeah, come here to Handsome Pond for a nice time. There are glorious spots to look at along the Pinnacle Trail; Handsome Pond is not the only place nearby, Mud Pond is a       nearby lake. This lake is so wonderful. You'll meet a lot of folks from Scranton—Wilkes-Barre here; Handsome Pond is splendid enough to spend more than a day at, Sunrise Lake Family Campgrnds is a splendid local campground. You could also take a look at Duck Pond since you're here at Handsome Pond; it's nearby, and Hampton Inn Clarks SummitScranton is a nice place to get some rest. This lake is so wonderful. You can never get enough of the good skiing at                  Montage Mountain, and if you came to camp How Kola Camp is a great location to do that. You'll never forgive yourself if you don’t go skiing at Elk Mountain if you're here; enjoy a round of golf at Lakeland Golf Club. Handsome Pond is a rather wet place generally with a great deal of rain; June is the wettest month with most rain, and the driest month of the year is February. For the period of the warmest time of the year here at Handsome Pond, high temperatures mostly get into the 70's. Once the sun is down it drops down to the 50's.
