At Half Moon Lake through the warmest time of the year highs are in the 70's. When the night sets in temperatures drop down into the 50's. For the period of the wintertime the highs are mostly in the 20's, and overnight lows in the 10's for Half Moon Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Hiking is a popular thing to do around       Half Moon Lake; Refuge Trail is a great local trail, and Half Moon Lake is pleasant enough to spend more than a day at, Lake Moc A Tec Campground is a pleasant local campground. Don't leave Half Moon Lake without first going for a hike along the Lakeside Trail, and why not stop at Lake Henry Dam while you're here. This lake is so wonderful. There's so much to do here at Half Moon Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Clayton Park Recreational Area                  is a fine place for that, and why not head up to Montage Mountain and strap some skis to your feet. Spangenberg Lake is a good lake in the vicinity of Half Moon Lake, and get your heart beating on the good whitewater of Middle Creek - Lackawaxen Tributary. Half Moon Lake is a wet place that gets a good deal of rainfall; the month with most of the rain is June; February is the month with the least moisture. Yep, outdoors fun stuff to do are in fact abundant here at Half Moon Lake. After a long day outdoors Holiday Inn SCRANTON-EAST (DUNMORE) is a pleasant place to spend a night or two; a day on the slopes of Elk Mountain is just what you need.
