Heritage Cove Resort is a great campground nearby, and Lake Groundhog is not far at all from Altoona. What would winter be without some skiing at Blue Knob, and a good nearby hotel is Quality Inn Breeze       Manor. Take a hike on the Childers Ridge Trail, and there are some perfect whitewater spots on Sideling Hill Creek. Yep, outdoors cool things to do are beyond doubt bountiful here at Lake Groundhog. Harbor Mountain is pretty and can be made out from Lake Groundhog, and since you're here you can take a hike along the Moseby Trail. Brush Creek Campground is a delightful local campground, and if you need a spot to stay Best Western Plaza Motor Lodge is a fine                  choice. Have a splendid hiking adventure along the Cornelius Trail, and if you come at the right time of year, Yellow Creek offers some tremendous whitewater. During the summer highs here at Lake Groundhog reach the 80's, and during the night it cools down to the 50's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 30's with winter lows in the 10's overnight here at Lake Groundhog.
