All through the months of summer at Lake Groundhog highs are mostly in the 80's. For the duration of the moonlight hours it's mostly in the 50's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 30's, and after the sun is down during the wintertime temperatures at Lake Groundhog fall into the 10's. You can distinguish Harbor Mountain from Lake Groundhog; if you're here you will meet lots of people       from close by Altoona. This lake is so wonderful. If you like skiing, you're in luck; Blue Knob is near Lake Groundhog; a magnificent close by hotel is Quality Inn Breeze Manor. This lake is so wonderful. A great site to camp here at Lake Groundhog is Brush Creek Campground, and not far from Lake Groundhog you'll find Beaverdam Pond which is a pretty lake. So much amusing stuff to do at Lake Groundhog, so little time. There's wonderful hiking along the                  Childers Ridge Trail; why not camp at Heritage Cove Resort since you're here at Lake Groundhog. The Cornelius Trail offers hiking at its best, and whitewater paddling is splendid on Sideling Hill Creek. Lake Groundhog is a good place of typical precipitation; May is the month that gets the most rain while January is mostly the driest month. Lakes are perfect; Valley-Hi Eagle Lake is a lake that's close to Lake Groundhog, and in the event that you don't mind getting drenched, you can always go whitewater paddling on Yellow Creek.
