Paddling on Yellow Creek is so much fun; what would winter be without some skiing at Blue Knob. At Lake Groundhog you always meet someone from Altoona, and you can have a pleasant hiking adventure along the Childers Ridge Trail. Get dripping wet paddling on Sideling Hill Creek, and Valley-Hi Eagle Lake is a nearby lake that you could take a look at. While you're here at Lake Groundhog you can take a hike along the Cornelius Trail, and if you get bored of Lake Groundhog you could also pop by nearby Beaverdam Pond. Plaza Inn is a great choice. This lake is so wonderful. Quality Inn Breeze Manor is a nice location to get some rest, and Harbor Mountain is easy to spot from Lake Groundhog. Through the warm days of summer highs here at Lake
Groundhog reach the 80's; throughout summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. Highs all through the wintertime are generally in the 30's, and after the sun is down throughout the winter temperatures at Lake Groundhog dip into the
10's. Brush Creek Campground is a magnificent local campground; on a good day you can take a hike along the Moseby Trail.
