Just getting warmed up. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Brandywine Creek - East Branch, and there is a pleasant hiking trail close by called the Buzzard Trail. Courtyard Philadelphia Great Valley/Malvern is a fine spot to get some rest, and Gotwals Ponds is not the only place nearby, Schuylkill Canal is a nearby lake. Near Gotwals Ponds you discover a golf course       called Spring Ford Country Club, and if you've had enough of Gotwals Ponds, Black Rock Lake is close by. For the duration of the warm months at Gotwals Ponds temperatures are generally in the 80's. For the period of the dark hours of summer temperatures descend down into the 60's. Gotwals Ponds is a wet place that gets a large amount of rain; the month of May is the wettest with most of the rain, and February on the other hand is the driest. If you like skiing, you're in luck; Spring Mountain is near Gotwals Ponds, and going for a hike on the Lenade Trail is always a nice adventure. This lake is so wonderful.
