The best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of nearby Tanglwood, and a charming lake like Beaver Lake is a great place to stop at. Ski Big Bear is a very popular ski area around here, and hiking along the Snow Shanty Trail is good fun. This lake is so wonderful. Tanglewood (Vri) is a tremendous place to get some rest. There's so much to do here at Goose Pond that you need       to camp here for a while, Lake Mocatek Campground is a pleasant site for that. If you need a place to stay Caesars Cove Haven is a perfect choice, and why not take a refreshing hike along the Boundary Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Purdy Creek flows through this vicinity, and do take a hike on the Brown Trail. Goose Pond sees pretty high levels of precipitation; most of the rain falls during June; the driest month of the year is February.
