Camping at Stony Mountain Campground is always a tremendous experience, and whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then, we recommend Harveys Creek. There are some splendid whitewater spots on Bowman Creek, and Elstons Pond is great enough to spend more than a day at, Schaffer's Riverside Campgrnd is a great local campground. This lake is so wonderful. If you get bored of Elstons Pond, you could       also stop at close by Lake Catalpa, and Ramada Plaza Hotel On-The-Square is a nice site to get some rest. Twin Oaks Golf Club is a golf course near Elstons Pond. Lots of folks from Scranton—Wilkes-Barre come to Elstons Pond, and after a long day outdoors Best Western Genetti Hotel & Convention Center is a great location to spend a night or two. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this place. Elstons Pond is near Lake Catalpa Dam which is a pretty place beyond                  doubt worth a visit, and you can go for a hike on the Pinnacle Trail. During the warm days of summer at Elstons Pond temperatures are regularly in the 80's, and through summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. Through the winter highs are in the 30's while Elstons Pond nighttime low temperatures through the winter are in the 10's.
