An average amount of rain falls at Elk Lake; most of the rain falls through July; February is the month with the least moisture. This lake is so wonderful. Elk Lake is wonderful enough to spend more than a day at, Keen Lake Camping and Cottage Resort is a wonderful local campground, and lovely scenery       and great skiing is what you obtain at Elk Mountain. Paddling on Middle Creek - Lackawaxen Tributary is so much fun, and a nice site to camp here at Elk Lake is Valleyview Farm and Campground. You'll wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the exciting things at Elk Lake. Lackawanna River has a nice whitewater paddling spot close by, and if the weather is glorious, you can go for a hike along the White Deer Trail. Throughout the summer at Elk Lake highs                  are mostly in the 70's, and during the night it cools down to the 50's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 20's with temperatures at Elk Lake dipping down into the 10's during winter nights. After a long day outdoors Comfort Inn Pocono Lakes Region is a delightful place to spend a night or two; if you get bored of Elk Lake you could also go to close by Mud Pond. Dry warm beds await you at Caesars Cove Haven, and hey, Gotta ski right? Mount Tone is a brilliant place to do that. This lake is so wonderful.
