Deer Lake is a wonderful location to visit for more than one day, Fox wood Family Campground is a wonderful location to camp nearby, and there's good       hiking along the Bald Barren Trail. The high level of rain makes Deer Lake a quite wet spot; the month with most of the rain is May, and February is when it's the driest. High temperatures at Deer Lake throughout the long summer days are in the 80's, and throughout the night it cools down to the 50's. All through the wintertime this place gets highs in the 30's, and overnight lows in the 10's for Deer Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Deer Lake is near Rakes                  Dam which is a delightful spot unquestionably worth a visit; not far from Deer Lake you'll hit upon Pocono Highlands Lake which is a pretty lake. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Deer Lake has to offer, you can camp at Delaware water Gap Koa, and brilliant skiing awaits you at Alpine Mountain. The Kinney Trail offers hiking at its best, and after a long day outdoors Caesars Pocono Palace is a perfect site to spend a night or two. You imagine that's enough? Just getting warmed up. You're sure to bump into some fine people from East Stroudsburg here, and Country Club of the Poconos at Big Ridge is a golf course nearby. If you're here at Deer Lake, you could visit Pond Creek; skiing at Shawnee Mountain is one of those things you just must do. This lake is so wonderful.
