Looking for something right next door to Deer Lake? Mud Pond is in close proximity; on a pleasant day you can take a hike along the Pinnacle Trail. This lake is so wonderful. During your tour to Deer Lake you'll meet some folks from Scranton—Wilkes-Barre for sure, and golf can be played at Lakeland Golf Club. Everybody close by loves skiing at Elk Mountain; Lackawanna River has a magnificent whitewater paddling spot close by. Nearby lakes? Deer Lake gets a large amount of water; throughout June this area sees the most rain while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Summertime highs at Deer Lake regularly tend to be in the 70's while nighttime lows are generally in the 50's.
