Wright's Orchard Station Campground
 | 11 miles away I stayed on the first night of the 2006 operating season (as advertised) and was really impressed. The campground, bath houses, and laundry facilities were very clean and modern. I was travelling in a 37' Class A and had site #1. The outer sites look to be the best for larger rigs - even though the pull throughs are in the middle, several large trees look like they would make it difficult to get a good postion on the site. No real activities, but a nice quiet place that is close to downtown Altoona and it's activities. Would definately stay again the next time we're in town.... |
Woodland Park
 | 13 miles away Tent Sites, RV Hookups, Pets OK, Fires OK, Store, Nearby Grocery... - 10-20 RV hookups...Privately owned campground on 72 acres of woodland beauty located on top of the Allegheny Highlands in Cambria County, Pennsylvania. Open April 15 to October 15. Most sites are occupied by seasonal campers but overnite pull-thru sites are available for RV's as large as 40 foot fifth-wheels and Class C Motorhomes. There are also sites for pop-up campers and tents. Since we are midway between Johnstown and Altoona, many sightseers find it convenient to visit both places without having to change campgrounds. Local points of interest include the Johnstown Flood Museum, Inclined Plane and National Flood Memorial as well as the Allegheny Portage Railroad Museum, Horseshoe Curve and the Railroad Museum in Altoona. The GhostTown Trail is a rails-to-trails project that runs from Ebensburg to Dilltown and can be hiked or biked.... |
