    In Pennsylvania there are many beautiful lakes, Connell Pond is one of them. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Little Loyalsock Creek, and if you've had enough of Connell Pond, Bob Kosts Pond is close by. There's some interesting stuff to observe at Connell Dam close to Connell Pond, and going for a hike along the Old Bulldozer Road Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this vicinity. This lake is so wonderful.  
   On a great day at Connell Pond you can take a hike along the Rock Run Trail, and dry warm beds await you at Budget Host Patriot Inn.
Don't forget to take a delightful little visit to Lopez Creek, and Rocky Valley Campground is a nice local campground. And that's not all you can do here at Connell Pond. On a magnificent day you can take a look at Half Moon Swamp, a swamp close to Connell Pond, and Connell Pond is a perfect location to visit for more than
 
               one day, Good's Campground is a perfect location to camp nearby.
The warmest time of the year at Connell Pond comes with high temperatures in the 80's, and during the night it cools down to the 50's. For the period of the winter this place gets highs in the 30's with winter lows in the 10's overnight here at Connell Pond. This lake is so wonderful. You could also check out Saxe Pond since you're here at Connell Pond; it's nearby, and Comfort Inn Towanda is a perfect place to get some rest. From a rain point of view Connell Pond is a quite normal place; throughout the month of June you get the most rain around here, and January is when it's the driest.
If you come at the right time of year, Loyalsock Creek offers some wonderful whitewater, and while you're here you can take a hike along the Irish Settlement Trail.

We hiked around Hunters Lake in November.  It was a rainy weekend and some of the trail was very wet but it was a flat, easy hike and the soggy ground was not hazardous.  Parking is on the opposite side of Brunnerdale from the lake.  Follow the gold blazes to hike around the lake.  They begin on your left after crossing the dam. The last mile of the hike is actually on Brunnerdale Road.  Not sure why the trail doesn't continue lakeside.  Good family outing....
