After a long day outdoors Best Western Nittany Inn Milroy is a great place to spend a night or two; do take a hike on the Hessick Trail. Colyer Lake Dam has great water scenery and it's in close proximity to Colyer Lake, and there are other sites       here than Colyer Lake, for example Penn Spring Reservoir. This lake is so wonderful. Have a tremendous hiking adventure along the Deaf Run Trail, and Thickhead Mountain is picturesque and can be seen from here. Lakes are such serene locations, why not take a look at Laurel Creek Reservoir near Colyer Lake; why not spend some time golfing at a close by golf course like Standing Stone Golf Club. This lake is so wonderful. Bob Kearns Campgrounds is a glorious                  campground nearby; a good site is Bechtol Gap. Colyer Lake is right by the Bear Trail, and the skiing at Tussey Mountain is glorious. And if that's not sufficient, there's lots more to do close to Colyer Lake. The wonderful people of State College like to hang out close by; there's some flowing water close by, Boal Gap Run is a stream you can explore while here. The warmest time of the year at Colyer Lake comes with high temperatures in the 80's with overnight lows in the 60's. Throughout the winter this place gets highs in the 30's while Colyer Lake nighttime low temperatures throughout the wintertime are in the 10's. If you need a spot to stay Colony Lodge is a brilliant choice; get drenched paddling on Elk Creek. If only every site had this much outdoors amusing stuff, what a great world it would be.
