This lake is so wonderful. Glide down the rapids of Tohickon Creek in a kayak, and Columbus Lake is delightful enough to spend more than a day at, Little Red Barn Camp Grounds is a delightful local campground. Columbus Lake ordinarily gets lots of rain; through the month of May you get the most rain around here while February is mostly the driest month. A day on the slopes of Bear       Creek is just what you need. Life's too short to enjoy all the cool things right next door to Columbus Lake. The snow is good at Spring Mountain, and if you're stopping by from Philadelphia-Camden-Wilmington, you won't be the only one. North Branch Neshaminy Creek is a great local stream, and camping at Tohickon Family Campground is always a great experience. Not far from Columbus Lake you get some perfect water scenery at Railroad Creek Dam; after a long                  day outdoors Chalfont Motor Lodge is a magnificent place to spend a night or two. A golf course close to Columbus Lake is Twining Valley Golf Club; dry warm beds await you at Comfort Inn Montgomeryville. Summertime brings highs in the 80's to Columbus Lake. Summer overnight lows dip down to the 60's.
