Put some time aside to spend at Fountaindale Spring since you're here at Charnita Lake, and Marsh Creek is a magnificent whitewater spot nearby. All through the summer months here at Charnita Lake, high temperatures regularly reach the 80's. All through the dark hours of summer temperatures fall down into the 60's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 30's, and winter nights come with lows in the 10's to Charnita Lake. This lake is so wonderful.

| | Lakes are such serene sites, why not have a look at K Section Pond in the neighborhood of Charnita Lake; Granite Hill Campground is a great campground nearby. A delightful place for whitewater paddling near Charnita Lake is Owens Creek, and obviously Copper Run is a scenic stream that is worth taking a look at. This lake is so wonderful. A glorious spot to visit right next door to Charnita Lake is Cove Hollow; people from Gettysburg love to come here. | |

A scenic lake like Emmitsburg Reservoir in close proximity to Charnita Lake is a good location to check out, and the skiing at Ski Liberty is fine. Any time is a fine time at Charnita Lake if you adore the outdoors. Catoctin Mountain
Park is a very good place to go to right next door to Charnita Lake, also K Section Dam is worth taking a look at since you're here. There's just no way someone can get bored here at Charnita Lake. A great close by hotel is Carroll
Valley Resort, and nice hiking is available along the Cunningham Falls Nature Trail. The top of Mc Ginley Hill is easily seen from Charnita Lake, and after a long day outdoors Sleep Inn & Suites is a delightful location to spend a
night or two. This lake is so wonderful. Don't leave Charnita Lake without first going for a hike along the High Rock Nature Trail, and enjoy a round of golf at Mountain View Golf Club. From a rainfall point of view Charnita Lake
is a quite normal place; the wettest month of the year is frequently May, that's the one that rains the most, and February is when it's the driest. Go for a hike on the Green Ridge Trail, and you can stay the night at Gettysburg Koa Kampground.

We have been unable to reach the campground to clarify this....This campground, I have stayed at numerous times.? So far I have not had any issues.?
