Get yourself into a kayak and hit Conewago Creek - West; hiking is a popular thing to do around Chambersburg Reservoir; Wildcat       Trail is a good local trail. A magnificent nearby hotel is Best Western Shippensburg Hotel, and do take a hike on the Lippencot Trail. If you need a location to stay Rodeway Inn Shippensburg is a glorious choice, and Chambersburg Reservoir is fine enough to spend more than a day at, Conewago Campground is a fine local campground. You'll meet a lot of folks from Gettysburg here. For you golfers we recommend nearby Conocodell Golf Club, and why not take a refreshing                  hike along the Pole Bridge Trail. The annual rainfall here at Chambersburg Reservoir is about average; most of the rain falls through June, and January is when it's the driest. The snow is magnificent at Ski Liberty, and if you came to camp Colonels Crk Campground is a wonderful place to do that. So many fun things near Chambersburg Reservoir, definitely tremendous. At Chambersburg Reservoir you can catch a sight of Long Mountain, and if you come at the right time of year, Antietam Creek - East Branch offers some glorious whitewater. This lake is so wonderful.
