This lake is so wonderful. There's whitewater on Lackawanna River for all you thrill seekers, and some of the water close by flows, like Middle Branch Dyberry Creek. Do stop by Beaver Lake in close proximity to Carr Pond, it's a striking lake, and if the weather is glorious, you can go for a hike along       the Blooming Grove Trail. Camping is available at Cherry Ridge Campground, and a golf course close by is Lake Lorain Golf Club. This lake is so wonderful. There's some interesting stuff to see at Stookey Dam in the neighborhood of Carr Pond, and why not head up to Mount Tone and strap some skis to your feet. Going for a hike along the White Deer Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this region; Tanglewood (Vri) is a perfect place to get some                  rest. Man, is there plenty of cool stuff to do near Carr Pond. You'll hit upon a beautiful lake called Douglas Pond near Carr Pond, and the snow is great at Ski Big Bear. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Middle Creek - Lackawaxen Tributary. From a precipitation point of view Carr Pond is a reasonably normal spot; the month with most of the rain is July, and February on the other hand is the driest. All through the long summer days, highs generally are in the 70's at Carr Pond; the nighttime is slightly colder of course, typically in the 50's.
