There's so much to do here at Carpenter Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Shore Forest Campground is a great place for that, and you obtain a magnificent vista of Jeffers Hill from here. Elk Mountain is a very popular ski area nearby; hiking along the Pinnacle Trail is great fun. Drift down the rapids of Meshoppen Creek in a kayak; the best way to spend a winter       day is on the slopes of nearby Montage Mountain. This lake is so wonderful. Dry warm beds await you at Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites GIBSON, and lakes are such peaceful places, why not check out Clark Pond. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this place. If you need a spot to stay Comfort Inn Clarks Summit is a nice choice, and Carpenter Pond is nice enough to spend more than a day at, Sunrise Lake Family Campgrnds is a nice local campground. This lake                  is so wonderful. If you come at the right time of year, Lackawanna River offers some brilliant whitewater. High temperatures at Carpenter Pond all through the summertime months are in the 70's with night lows in the 50's. The winter brings highs down to the 20's with temperatures at Carpenter Pond dipping down into the 10's throughout winter nights.
